Why switch to LED lighting

LED lighting is the clear upgrade over old halogen and incandescent globes. LEDs use up to 80% less energy, last up to 50,000 hours, and run cool, which removes the fire risk that hot halogens carry. Warm white or cool white?

LED colour temperature, measured in kelvin (K), changes the whole feel of a room. Warm white (around 2700 to 3000K) gives a soft, cosy, yellowish light that suits bedrooms, living areas and dining rooms. Natural or cool white (around 4000K) is a cleaner, brighter light that works well in kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and home offices where you want clarity. Daylight (5000K and up) is very bright and crisp, good for garages, workshops and task areas. Many people mix temperatures through the home for the right mood in each space, and some LEDs are even switchable between tones.
